Interim Head of Finance - Distinct Recruitment : Job Details

Distinct is partnering with a Nottingham-based services business to appoint an interim Head of Finance on a 6-month contract.

Location: Nottingham (2-3 days from the office)

Salary: to c£75K (day rate also considered)

You’ll oversee the finance function and support a small but capable team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the finance function through change and transition
• Reviewing and improving finance processes and reporting systems
• Driving automation and transformation projects across data and reporting
• Managing forecasting, budgeting, and margin analysis
• Providing commercial insights and strategic financial support to the leadership team
• Ensuring the business is positioned for growth with forward-looking financial planning

About you:

• A commercially minded finance leader with strong operational awareness
• Hands-on and pragmatic approach – able to get up to speed quickly
• Ideally experience in service-based industries, SME experience preferred
• A background in process automation
• A well-rounded finance professional – not overly technical, but commercially sharp
