Interim Financial Controller - South London - £650/750 per day outside IR35

I have an immediate requirement for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join an SME business in South London. The role will involve the management of a small team through a transitional period. The successful candidate will be the number one on site and be responsible for creating an accounting timetable and the timely delivery of management accounts and financial reporting. This will be a hands-on role due to manual processes and legacy systems and will require applicants to be on site typically for four days per week with one day remote.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and optimize financial processes and reporting in line with the company's requirements.
• Business partner to the MD.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Team management, coaching and development.
• An overhaul of roles and responsibilities within the finance team.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to align financial strategies and reporting standards.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business improvements and provide management information.
• Oversee the implementation of financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Process and systems improvement.

Requirements:

• Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Proven experience within a similar role.
• Strong team leadership experience through periods of change.
• Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and financial reporting principles.
• Demonstrable Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
