Interim Finance Manager - Abingdon - 6 month interim contract
Our client, a manufacturing business, seeks a hands-on Interim Finance Manager to support the finance team during a period of change. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function, delivering accurate management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and contributing to financial decision-making.
This is a key role in maintaining financial integrity and ensuring business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly management accounts process, including variance analysis and commentary
- Support annual budget preparation and periodic reforecasts
- Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Manage and mentor a small finance team or oversee outsourced providers (as applicable)
- Assist with year-end preparations and liaise with external auditors if required
- Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Ad hoc reporting and support for senior leadership as required
Key Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager role in a sub £100million SME
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Confident with financial systems
- Excellent Excel skills
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, change-oriented environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Available to start at short notice or within the next 3 weeks
