A London-based local authority is seeking a highly capable Finance Manager to lead financial support across its Environment and Public Realm services. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of critical service areas
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on all financial matters related to Environment services, including strategic planning, budgeting, and monthly forecasting.
- Act as the principal finance advisor to senior leadership across environmental service areas.
- Ensure robust financial controls, risk management, and value-for-money assessments are embedded in service delivery.
- Support the delivery of high-profile programmes, including sustainability and climate initiatives, capital projects, and contracts management.
- Prepare high-quality financial reports for internal stakeholders, Cabinet Members, and external auditors.
- Contribute to corporate budget setting and the council’s medium-term financial strategy.
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Significant experience in local government finance, preferably with exposure to Environment, Place, or Public Realm portfolios.
