Are you a qualified finance professional with deep experience in social housing business planning? Do you enjoy leading the delivery of financial returns that carry real regulatory weight? Are you ready to step into a role where your expertise directly supports long-term organisational strategy?

My client, a housing association based in Hertfordshire, is seeking a Business Planning Manager for a 9-month fixed term contract. The role plays a critical part in the financial stewardship of the organisation, with key responsibilities centred around long-term business planning and regulatory returns.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the production and maintenance of the organisation’s long-term financial plan
  • Preparing and submitting the annual Sector Scorecard and Statistical Data Return (SDR)
  • Performing robust stress testing and multivariate scenario analysis
  • Supporting the Executive Team and Board with strategic financial modelling and insight
  • Collaborating with treasury, development and asset colleagues to ensure a joined-up financial strategy
  • Acting as key point of contact for regulatory bodies on all matters relating to financial planning

This is an outstanding opportunity to take ownership of a highly visible role, joining an organisation committed to financial resilience, social impact and transparent reporting. You'll be working alongside a capable and collaborative finance team, where your input will have genuine influence at board level.

The successful applicant will be based in the Hertfordshire office two days per week, with flexibility for remote working on other days.

To be considered, please meet the following criteria:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA)

  • Proven track record of preparing regulatory returns
  • Strong financial modelling and scenario planning skills
  • Confident communicator, capable of engaging at executive and board level
