We are seeking an Interim Accounts Manager to play a vital role in supporting our client, a charitable organisation, mission. Working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees, you will ensure the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations and provide clear, timely information to help guide decision-making.This is a hands-on finance position with a strong focus on maintain accurate accounts, monitoring cashflow, and supporting colleagues across the organisation to manage their budgets responsibly.Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and reports for the MD and trustees
- Support budget holders with clear financial information and guidance
- Maintain a weekly cashflow forecast to ensure financial stability
- Oversee payroll and pensions, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure robust systems for HMRC compliance
- Manage day-to-day finance processes including creditors, debtors, accruals, and prepayments
- Act as key contact for banks, finance systems, and external advisors
- Lead and support the finance team, encouraging development and a culture of continuous improvement
About you
- AAT qualified (or equivalent) with relevant finance management experience
- Strong knowledge of management accounts, cashflow, payroll, and VAT
- Confident using financial systems (Xero and Sage desirable) and Excel
- Practical, adaptable, and comfortable working in a values-led environment
