As part of our next phase of growth, we’re hiring an Installation Engineer to join our expanding technical team. GENERAL DETAILS
- Location: Birmingham / Redditch / Midlands (with regular UK travel)
- Salary: £30,000–£35,000 + van, tools & expenses
- Hours: 42.5 hours per week (typically 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with flexibility required)
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent
THE ROLEThis role is ideal for someone who’s hands-on, technically minded, and passionate about solving problems. You’ll be the face of e-Track on the ground – installing, repairing, and maintaining our systems, while providing high levels of support to our customers. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Field Engineer Based Work (UK-wide):
- Install and maintain our intelligent key systems at police sites and commercial locations
- Respond to callouts, typically with a 48-hour SLA
- Carry out system diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Travel extensively, including overnight stays (Mon–Fri), with van and expenses provided
Workshop & Production Support:
- When not on site, help build, prepare, and configure systems to the highest standards
Customer Interaction:
- Provide professional, friendly support and training on-site
- Communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior managers and operations teams
- Spot opportunities to enhance systems and recommend upgrades
Technical & Safety Standards:
- Use power tools and work from technical diagrams confidently
- Ensure all work is compliant with Health & Safety regulations
- Conduct wiring and software updates (training provided)
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: Essential:
- Hands-on experience in an engineering, installation, or technical support role
- Confident using power tools and basic electrical tasks (e.g. wiring a plug)
- Comfortable lifting and handling equipment up to 100kg with support
- Ability to travel across the UK with overnight stays
- Highly personable and customer focused with strong communication skills
- Proactive and reliable
- Clear record and ability to pass Level 3 police vetting – including credit check
Desirable:
- Background in automotive, access control, alarm systems or similar
- Familiarity with software setup, networking, or system configuration
