The Innovation Design Manager under the leadership of the Innovation Director is integral to the implementation of our innovation methodology, working with teams across the Trust and with the wider community to develop initiatives that enhance our service provision whilst improving the quality of life of our residents and beneficiaries.

We are seeking someone with a thorough understanding of design thinking who will be able to lead the research process, transform insights and develop ideas into opportunities and projects through your expertly designed and facilitated innovation workshops.

This role is a real open scope opportunity to deliver far reaching innovations and an exciting position for anyone who has a passion for delivering innovation through true multi-party collaboration.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 years of hands-on experience shaping products, services, processes and/or new ventures (or equivalent experience).

  • A thorough understanding of Design Thinking, user-centred design (UCD) and Agile methods.

  • Comfort with and passion for all parts of the design process, from early-stage insights gathering, to strategy definition, concepting, and prototyping.

  • Experience in applying new technologies, products or processes to address core challenges within a complex and multi-faceted environment.

  • Experience in designing and facilitating innovation workshops and design sprints.

  • Experience in research or research activities such as managing focus groups.

  • Demonstrable passion for exploring challenges to meet strategic goals in our field.

  • Results-oriented mindset, organised and able to take an idea from initiation to impact with fixed resources.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills.

  • A highly ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a complex, multi-disciplined organisation.

  • Adaptable to varying situations, audiences, and contexts.

Desirable

  • Project management qualification or equivalent skills and experience.

  • Experience gained within the health and social care or other service sector.

  • Experience in management of events or large meetings with internal and external representation.

  • People management skills.

Hours: 35 hours per week, working Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

Salary: £43,552.60 per annum
