The Role:We are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer to join ourdedicated IT team. This role offers flexibility in terms of office location across our variousChattertons branches. There will be requirement to travel to other offices therefore a full currentdriving license and use of your own vehicle (with business insurance) is required for the position.As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing our hybrid on-premises andAzure cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal security, performance, and reliability, as part of ourforward-thinking team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supporting the day-to-day management of our existing IT systems and hybrid cloudinfrastructure, including monitoring, patching, and upgrades.

• Architect and deploy solutions inside Azure that are interoperable with existing onpremises infrastructure, facilitating a migration of key systems to the cloud.

• Configure/manage components such as Hyper-V failover cluster nodes, virtual machines,mail servers, domain controllers, networking equipment, and storage devices (Dell).

• Assist the IT support team with escalated support requests from end users.

• Provision and optimise resources within Azure, including virtual machines, networking,security, backup and storage services; monitoring and remediating as required.

• Establish secure and reliable connectivity between on-premises data centres, branchoffices, and Azure via IPVPN, MPLS, fibre, and DSL.

• Implement/manage seamless hybrid identity authentication solutions (ActiveDirectory/Azure AD/Entra Connect) & access between on-premises and Azure resources.

• Develop PowerShell scripts, automation workflows, and configuration management toolsto streamline provisioning, deployment, and management tasks.

• Implement and maintain security measures across both environments, including firewallconfigurations, access controls, and digital certificates, ensuring compliance withregulatory and industry standard requirements such as Cyber Essentials.

• Create and maintain documentation outlining the overall architecture, components, andintegration points, facilitating knowledge sharing within the IT team and wider firm.

• Stay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in hybrid cloud,Azure services, and infrastructure management; identifying opportunities for innovationand new solutions to enhance the hybrid cloud environment.
