Are you looking to build and develop a career within the aviation consulting environment? If so, we currently have an outstanding opportunity within a large Aerospace OEM Industrial Architects Team for an Industrial Architect.

Collaborating with the Senior Industrial Architect and working as part of a multi-functional team you will be involved with different innovative R&D projects, with the initial focus on supporting trade and tolerance studies and the industrial aspects of technology development for the next generation of Single Aisle (SA) aircraft.

What you will be doing:

  • Liaising with a large community of business partners: Such as the manufacturing engineering community, internal suppliers, and external industrial as well as academic partners.
  • Integrate into and work as part of multi-functional teams to develop innovative processes, working closely with the business units, programme manager, manufacturing engineers and value streams to mature technologies to a pre-production level.
  • Supporting the Technical Lead and project team with development of industrial system and process maps.
  • Providing technical support for the Manufacturing and industrial aspects of Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness level (MRL) reviews
  • Perform co-design activities with colleagues from Industrial and Engineering
  • Compiling quantitative data (NRC, RC, NVA & VA) for trade studies and presentation of said data.
  • Validating tolerance studies through manufacturing capability assessments
  • Working to strict deadlines, time management and specific deliverables
  • Generate and support internal and external communications to inform the business, current and prospective customers of technologies, projects, and progress to promote awareness of CIMPA capabilities and maintaining our position as a key service provider.

What you’ll bring:

  • Knowledge of aircraft structures and manufacturing processes, particularly around pylons and propulsion units.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T principals and application.
  • Experience within an engineering manufacturing environment, including the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and models.
  • Knowledgeable about the whole value chain, from materials through design, part manufacturing and testing.
  • Methodical and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge in process mapping tools and 3D CAD.
  • Research skills, able to gather information from a broad selection of sources and collate into an intelligent assessment of the data.
  • Personal responsibility to manage assigned tasks to time, quality and budget to ensure contributions to achieve project milestone and deliverable dates are met.
  • Good verbal reasoning and English comprehension skills to understand instructions and able to effective communication at all levels, well spoken English, able to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong Google suite skills, with experience in generating and delivering high-quality presentations.

If would be great if you had:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) engineer qualification.
  • Solid experience in production/industrial environment, with demonstrable experience working from first principles to implement new technology solutions related to engineering components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Knowledge of Technology Readiness Levels and Manufacturing Readiness Levels and associated processes for planning, developing and assessment of technology maturation.
  • Challenge status quo, engage people & convince, navigate in multicultural environments, learn, and transmit. Good communication and stakeholders’ management

Employment Type - Permanent, Full-time

Salary - up to £50,000 per annum, 25 days holiday, 6% variable Bonus, Medical & Dental Insurance, Pension

Location - Chester or Bristol - 2-3 days onsite

We operate a hybrid working principle, so the role could partially be worked from UK home as well as being delivered on Client and CIMPA sites, with regular visits to site as needed. Travel may be required.
