Description

  • Prepare and submit periodic VAT returns for multiple jurisdictions across the EMEA region, ensuring timely and accurate compliance.
  • Complete annual VAT returns, including adjustments required under local regulations.
  • Review transactional data related to sales and purchases to ensure proper VAT classification and treatment.
  • Investigate and resolve variances between financial records and preliminary VAT filings.
  • Identify recurring VAT issues and collaborate on corrective measures to enhance data accuracy.
  • Reconcile VAT control accounts with the general ledger on a regular basis.
  • Review and approve outgoing invoices from a VAT perspective within internal systems.
  • Maintain and manage a VAT reporting calendar to ensure all filings and obligations are met on time.
  • Assist with audit responses, partial exemption reviews, input VAT recovery assessments, and implementation of related improvements.

Profile

A successful Indirect Tax Associate should have:

  • 3+ years in-house indirect tax experience
  • Working towards a professional qualification such as CTA, ACA, ACCA
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Partial exemption knowledge is a bonus
