Income Recovery Officer
  • Annual Salary: £23,557 to £29000
  • Location: Broxbourne (Hybrid)
  • Job Type: Permanent

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:45am - 5:15pm
  • Friday: 8:45am - 4:45pm
  • Hybrid working: 4 days from home, 1 day in the office

Join our team as a Recovery Officer, where you will manage both business and residential accounts, ensuring efficient debt recovery and maintaining high standards of customer service. This role offers a blend of office and remote work, ideal for those who value flexibility and are driven to support operational service delivery.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Manage business and residential accounts effectively.
  • Liaise with businesses and residents to ensure clear communication and resolution of issues.
  • Conduct housekeeping reports and exercises to maintain account accuracy.
  • Undertake debt chasing and control recovery processes.
  • Action client requests promptly and accurately.
  • Support operational service delivery to clients by ensuring compliance with corporate HR and Health & Safety policies.
  • Mentor and support colleagues in their development within the organisation.
  • Attend court twice a month to support the court officer, ensuring legal processes are followed accurately.
  • Manage council tax accounts and liaise with enforcing agents to ensure compliance and resolution of issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in administration and account management.
  • Experience in debt management and collection.
  • Experience in managing council tax and dealing with enforcing agents.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver first-class service to a diverse range of customers.
  • Skilled in gathering, organising, and managing information.
  • Responsive and customer-focused with a commitment to customer care.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns to meet business needs.
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with minimum grades of A-C /9-4 in English and Maths.
