Pay rate: £87.00 - £100.00 per day (depending on experience)

Start date: Immediate

Duration: long term with the view to go permanent

Active Recruitment are working with an Outstanding mainstream Secondary school in Newham, who are looking for an experienced Inclusion Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible on a temp to perm basis. The role is to provide 1:1 and group support to young people with special educational, social and emotional difficulties. The Inclusion Teaching Assistant will ensure that the pupil can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other students in the class and make progress.

Duties of the Inclusion Teaching Assistant

• To develop knowledge of the particular needs of the child and seek advice from the SENCo, class teacher and outside agencies as required.
• To make or modify resources as suggested and advised by the SENCo, Educational Psychologist or other outside agencies.
• To organise and maintain an inclusive learning environment across the whole school environment.
• Provide positive reinforcements, praise and rewards to pupils.
• Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with peers and support interaction between them.
• To attend in service training and relevant meetings relevant to the post in order to keep up to date with developments in working with children with special educational needs.
