Join a Well-Established Freight Forwarder – Road Import & Export Operations

A growing logistics business based near Feltham is seeking a skilled and motivated Road Freight Operator to join their dynamic team. This is a key position within their operations department, covering both import and export road freight, with strong customer service and customs compliance elements.

The candidate MUST be able to complete T1 Custom Entries. If you have experience in UK or European road freight and are confident managing full-cycle shipments — from booking through to invoicing — this could be an excellent long-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle daily road freight bookings from clients and overseas partners
• Liaise with hauliers to coordinate shipments across the UK and Europe
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and become a trusted contact
• Accurately process jobs through internal freight systems
• Ensure customs entries are submitted correctly and in line with UK regulations
• Monitor transit progress, resolve delays, and keep customers informed
• Raise and manage all shipping documentation
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, capturing all cost elements
• Maintain compliance with relevant customs procedures and internal SOPs

Systems & Documentation Involvement:

• Use of software such as Cargowise, GVMS, NCTS, Destin8, and CNS
• Entry creation and milestone tracking
• Job file management and document upload (eDocs)
• Customs codes, CPCs, HS codes, and preference types (EUR, GSP, REX, etc.)
• Managing documents such as delivery notes, ATA Carnets, CVEDs, and licences

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a road freight forwarding role (import/export)
• Strong understanding of UK & EU road transport processes
• Familiarity with customs procedures and document requirements
• Proficient in logistics software and confident with internal systems
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Organised, process-driven, and able to handle pressure
• Positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
