Tirebuck Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environmental Officer to join a leading manufacturing organisation on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSE professional to be involved in the creation of a safety culture within the business. Duties include:
- Creating and driving a zero-harm safety culture.
- Identifying and implementing safety initiatives.
- HSEQ auditing.
- Tracking and trending SHEQ auditing outputs.
- Having the personal responsibility for driving the closure of safety non-conformances.
- Managing non-conformances and root cause analysis.
- Safety process auditing (LOTO, SOPS, Contractors and Permits to work).
- Completing behavioural assessments and employee education.
- Investigating accidents and near misses, reporting and closing findings.
- Conducting daily risk assessment, process, and substance review management.
- Reviewing and scheduling occupational health screenings based on risk findings.
- Assisting with the development of the 14001/45001 management systems.
- Providing absence cover as required by the HSE Manager.
- Supporting the implementation and review of the sites Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations.
- Supporting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
- Leading efforts to enhance workplace organisation and cleanliness through 5S methodology.
- Managing health, safety, and environment (HSE) projects to reduce risks and implement new technologies.
- Conducting emergency response exercises and serving on emergency response teams.
- Assessing equipment and machinery for safety compliance and identifying potential hazards.
- Collaborating with regulatory agencies such as environmental authorities and local government bodies.
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in Health, Safety and Environmental.
- Must have NEBOSH qualification.
- Proficient in MS Suite.
- Manufacturing background is preferred.
- Up to date knowledge on relevant legislation.
- Active listening and effective communication.
- Able to adapt to change and use initiative.
- Willing to take accountability and responsibility.
