Health & Safety Manager- Heavy CivilsNortheast location- Office BasedFull time- Monday to FridayPermanent roleSalary- £50,000 to £70,000 plus packageSearch Consultancy are working in partnership with a National Civil Engineering business who specialise in design & build of heavy civil engineering projects throughout the UK.Established over 15 years ago, the business seen their most profitable year to date in 2022 and are on track to continue this growth.Specialising in technically demanding projects, they are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their current office and site team. What we are looking for;  Lead the development and implementation of the Health and Safety strategy. Drive continuous improvement in Health and Safety performance across all operations. Provide expert advice on Health and Safety matters to on site management teams and office-based staff. Ensure compliance with legal obligations and industry best practices. Oversee and manage third-party contractor Health and Safety performance. Develop and implement processes for monitoring and controlling contractor performance. Support colleagues in meeting Health and Safety requirements both in office and remote working environments. Manage and develop existing health and safety advisor. Ensure that project is working to the relevant statutory health and safety documentation. Prepare of monthly report and submit in agreed format. Carry out site safety inspections. Identify areas for improvement and issues, submitting to the Project team. Monitor the adequacy of accident inspection and reporting. Carry out safety audits. Contribute to the environmental side of the business and support the Technical Manager. Keep clear records to comply with company internal audit standards.Qualifications & Experience:  Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in senior Health and Safety management roles. Relevant degree or professional qualification in Health and Safety. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management. Experience in managing third-party contractor performance. Chartered member of IOSH or actively working towards it. Evidence of continuous professional development. Strong decision-making skills with a focus on organisational values. Thorough knowledge of ISO45001 standards. Capable of leading accident investigations. NEEBOSH Qualification.
