This role is active and hands-on, ideal for candidates who are familiar with and enthusiastic about working in an agricultural or manufacturing environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deputising and Leadership:

    • Act as deputy to the Head of People & Culture, providing leadership and support across the team in their absence.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of people strategies and initiatives.
  • Recruitment and Resourcing:

    • Lead and manage end-to-end recruitment processes for various roles, ensuring practices are legally compliant and aligned with organisational values.
    • Maintain audit records and support documentation for external audits and customer reviews.
    • Conduct ethical compliance audits within the labour supply chain.
  • Employee Relations:

    • Provide expert advice on matters including disciplinary, grievance, and performance management.
    • Support line managers in resolving complex people issues in a fair and consistent manner.
    • Promote a positive employee relations climate and contribute to the development of a high-trust culture.
  • Ethical Compliance and Audit:

    • Assist in ensuring compliance with ethical labour standards and human rights legislation.
    • Contribute to the preparation for and response to ethical audits and customer enquiries.
  • Policy and Governance:

    • Assist in the drafting, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Wellbeing and Worker Voice:

    • Collaborate to embed wellbeing and worker voice across all People & Culture functions.
    • Support initiatives that promote employee engagement, inclusion, and psychological safety.
    • Monitor feedback mechanisms and contribute to action planning and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in HR management, particularly in recruitment, employee relations, and policy development.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to act as a deputy in the absence of senior leaders.
  • Experience in conducting ethical compliance audits and managing external audits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive work environment.
