The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced HR generalist to join a Nottingham based premium fashion brand who are on a very exciting journey as their brand continues to grow in popularity.

We are looking for someone to lead and shape the HR approach with care, clarity, and a real understanding of what makes teams thrive. Working closely with the leadership team, you will help define and deliver the People Strategy which is rooted in integrity, purpose, and culture.

This role is about being a trusted partner to the managers and leaders, helping to unlock the full potential of their people and create a workplace that reflects the Company values.

This is a true generalist role and due to the current size of the business, you will need to be comfortable being very hands-on across multiple areas. It is therefore very important that candidates are CIPD Level 5 qualified and ideally above. Experience within the retail or fashion industries would be desirable but applications are open to all candidates.

Please not that this job will be office based 5 days a week in the Centre of Nottingham with occasional travel to London.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy

  • Work alongside Directors to shape and deliver a People Plan that champions retention, benefit, reward, and a strong, values-led culture. You will guide and support the business through change in a thoughtful and people-centered way to help make the business a place where people want to stay, grow, and do their best work.

Employee Experience & Culture

  • Be a steady, trusted advisor to the senior team and managers on all people matters—supporting them through challenges like performance, absence, and employee concerns. This will include providing practical and clear guidance on employment law.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Working with hiring managers to create clear and inclusive job descriptions and oversee a smooth, welcoming recruitment process—from first application to first day on the job.

People Operations & Governance

  • Support managers through every stage of the employee life cycle. You will work closely with the L&D Manager to ensure the emphasis on employee skills and knowledge through effective training programs, aligning learning strategies with company goals.
  • You will track and report on key HR data to help shape decisions and keep policies clear, current, and aligned with legislation.

Ethics & Responsibility

  • Provide guidance around ethical memberships (like SMETA/SEDEX) and ensure the business stays transparent and responsible in everything they do.

About You

You will have a proven track record as a HR generalist, preferably in a senior role and be CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or relevant HR degree with relevant knowledge of employment law and implementing these into the company culture.

You will be passionate about creating an inclusive, equitable workplaces where people feel valued, empowered and supported which will require a hands-on, organised approach with a natural ability to manage multiple projects.

This role is ideal for a generalist HR Manager who is Comfortable working at both strategic and operational levels with the ability to adapt in a growing, ever evolving business. You will need excellent active listening skills in addition to negotiation and presentation skills.

Technically, you will also be proficient in drafting HR policies, procedures, employment contracts, and offers including knowledge of HR Information Systems, payroll and payroll procedures.
