We are looking for an HR Manager to lead the HR & L&D function, providing a customer-focused, proactive, and professional service. This hands-on generalist role requires a candidate who can manage operational elements of HR with a strong emphasis on leading and motivating the team. The ideal candidate will ensure fairness and inclusion for all employees and job applicants and will be adept at delivering projects and change with positive outcomes.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Oversee the HRIS integration and manage the transition of the Performance Management tool.
  • Provide support, coaching, and advice to staff and managers on performance evaluations and feedback.
  • Ensure full utilization of the HRIS system and train managers to manage their teams effectively.
  • Manage recruitment and employee onboarding, implementing best practice recruitment strategies.
  • Lead on succession planning and manpower planning with Heads of Department.
  • Deliver a robust mandatory training programme using the online L&D tool.
  • Manage the HR & L&D team budget and provide input into departmental budgets.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations and ensure HR policies are up to date and compliant.
  • Support the Director of Finance, IT, HR & Hospitality in developing and implementing HR strategies.
  • Manage the HR team, setting clear objectives and providing feedback.
  • Act as a positive change champion, supporting change programmes and strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ HR generalist management experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in Change Management development and implementation.
  • Proficiency in using HR Information Systems (SenseHR preferred).
  • Strong written skills for policy, procedure, and report development.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law legislation.
  • Competency in interviewing and selection skills.
  • Experience in advising and managing grievance and disciplinary investigations.
  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification.
