HR Generalist
- Contract Period: Up to 4 months
- Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
- Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Mon-Fri
- Daily Rate: Up to £245
We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for ensuring that our organisation meets its operational requirements to retain staff and increase productivity. You will act across all elements of HR to provide expert service to managers and staff, ensuring that management of resources and servicing of enquiries is conducted consistently within our values and policy.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide day-to-day HR support to staff and managers in accordance with organisational policies and procedures, legislation, and best practices.
- Collaborate on the creation of a new Intranet, particularly focusing on the HR content, ensuring it represents the employee lifecycle effectively.
- Support bespoke recruitment campaigns and manage communication with candidates, ensuring compliance with Civil Service Recruitment Principles.
- Prepare for and support the execution of the CS People Survey to increase staff participation and engagement.
- Manage payroll administration and liaise with the finance team on payroll information and submissions.
- Produce and manage regular and ad hoc HR management information reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of HR experience, preferably in the public sector.
- Experience in business partnering, recruitment, or case management within a professional service or financial sector environment.
- Familiarity with Civil Service processes and delivery of HR activities within the public sector is highly advantageous.
- Broad HR skills with a strong focus on employee engagement and comfort with HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent multitasking skills, able to deliver work to a high standard under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
- Proficiency in HR and payroll systems, e.g., Oracle.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent, or working towards one is preferred.
Individual Responsibilities:
- Lead the editing and population of HR content for the new Intranet.
- Take a lead role in applying the Civil Service People Survey within the organisation.
