This position is a hybrid role and will be required to work flexibly attending Liverpool, Cheadle and Worthing office locations frequently.

Role Overview

The HR Business Partner is responsible for working closely with our business leaders to help them make the most appropriate, commercially advantageous decisions in relation to their people, whilst ensuring Equiniti is an employer of choice. This role is a generalist HR role with huge focus on TUPE Projects running alongside business as usual and supporting the transition of c400 people.

Business Function

The People function is responsible for delivering the end to end HR services across the business. The People function comprises of all operational people services from administration through to strategic policy including specialist areas such as Business Partnering, Learning & Development, Talent and Engagement, Resourcing, Reward, Payroll and Benefits. A stand-alone People function that is capable of delivering world class people services across the employee life cycle including policies, frameworks, processes and systems to determine people plans and priorities.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

  • Translate the People agenda, vision & strategy into deliverable plans & actions that align with local business strategy.

  • Support the performance & reward agenda, including cyclical activities; annual pay review, annual bonus payments, bi-annual PDR process and moderation, and annual people reviews.

  • Champion the use of the People Services team, ensuring managers & employees use the services directly in line with the Service Catalogue & Service Partnering Agreement.

  • Provide local support to senior managers and leaders for complex ER matters (discipline, grievance, suspensions, redundancy etc.) & own commercial solutions & outcomes.

  • Drive local people engagement via the annual engagement survey; own key actions and work with leadership team to deliver, communicate and feedback to employees.

  • Work with managers to identify and improve people management gaps through coaching or other means.

  • Work with managers to identify key people measures for day to day operations, produce monthly analytics for the board reports; identify areas of opportunity, risk or performance improvement, and present the HR People Pack to the leadership team.

  • Be a recognised partner from feasibility to completion in bids, acquisitions, disposals, TUPE, redundancy & organisation redesign.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

  • Track record of People / HR management in a commercial setting.

  • Extensive People / HR generalist experience and detailed understanding of all aspects of people management including resourcing, talent management/succession planning, change management and employee relations.

  • Exposure to unionised environments is beneficial.

  • Experience of organisation development and design, and facilitation of change including consultation and engagement.

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes and Workday HRIS.

  • Strong leadership and motivational people management skills.

  • Ability to work openly and collaboratively at all levels to maximise overall organisational health.

  • Strong analytical skills and proven understanding of human capital measurement and delivery of performance improvement interventions.

  • Professional and commercial acumen, with strong senior level influencing and stakeholder management skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.

  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills.

  • Well organised, responsive and able to work under pressure.
