Job Description :
This is a term time only role - 39 weeks a year.Our client is seeking a dedicated HR and Compliance Officer to serve as the first point of contact for all HR matters. This role involves providing routine advice and guidance on operational terms and conditions, ensuring implementation and compliance with HR policies and processes, and managing a range of HR processes including recruitment, selection, and support for disciplinary and performance processes.Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide operational advice and guidance on all HR policies and procedures to senior leaders and staff, ensuring robust implementation of key HR processes.
  • Ensure updates on relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance are communicated effectively to relevant parties.
  • Spread awareness of policies and promote compliance with practices and procedures.
  • Update, produce, and maintain school policies and reports, overseeing the diary management of all policy reviews.
  • Serve as a tactful and confidential liaison between internal and external stakeholders and the Principal.
  • Organise relevant meetings, prepare required paperwork, circulate meeting notes, and complete actions as necessary.
  • Manage HR processes including recruitment and selection, monitoring sickness and other absences, and supporting disciplinary, grievance, and performance processes.
  • Maintain the Single Central Record (SCR) and ensure compliance with regulatory guidance.
  • Advise on operational HR issues and support the Principal with formal HR processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Foundation Level 3 Certificate in People Management Practice or equivalent HR qualification.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR in education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience managing and using MIS packages (e.g., SIMS or Arbor).
  • Strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to form effective relationships with senior staff.
