REED HR have partnered with a fantastic company in Kent who are seeking an HR Advisor to join their Corporate Resources division. This role is crucial for delivering proactive HR services across the organisation, focusing on organisational development, change management, employee relations, and the administrative employee life cycle. The HR Advisor will provide first-stage generalist advice, guidance, and coaching to managers and supervisors through various communication channels.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide initial advice and support on all employee life cycle matters via telephone, email, virtual meetings, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Advise managers on the initial stages of employee relations (ER) issues, including absence management, performance, grievances, conduct, and capability.
  • Support investigation officers with real-time investigations, maintaining continuous communication and guidance on relevant policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and support managers through the initial stages of ER cases, escalating to a Senior HR Advisor as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain effective working partnerships with stakeholders within the business, the wider organisation, and externally as necessary.
  • Upskill managers to develop their ability and confidence in managing ER cases.
  • Assist in restructure processes and the implementation and updating of HR policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to project work within the HR team or with other members as required.
  • Analyse workforce information to advise on action plans and management strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Awareness of Employment Law and GDPR best practices.
  • Understanding of business and HR processes, systems, and tools.
  • Strong customer focus with experience in advising managers on ER issues.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the business.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Competence in using computer systems such as Google G-Suite, Microsoft, and HR systems.
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in HR or relevant subject, or relevant experience in a similar role.
