FTC HR Advisor

REED HR have partnered with a fantastic organisation in Kent who are seeking a HR Advisor to join their dynamic People Team. This role is crucial in providing a consistent, effective, and confidential HR service within agreed timescales, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and current employment law. The successful candidate will support line managers in recruitment, employee relations, and policy review, contributing to our commitment to excellence in people management.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Recruitment and Selection: Assist in drafting and placing recruitment advertisements, ensuring effective monitoring of staffing vacancies, and supporting managers in all aspects of the recruitment process.
- Operational People Management: Provide advice on employment terms, manage probation periods, and support higher-level disciplinary investigations. Ensure payroll documentation is processed efficiently and liaise with various teams to resolve queries.
- Office Management: Oversee the maintenance of accurate staff records and manage administrative processes for new starters, leavers, and contractual variations.
- Employee Relations: Support managers in dealing with a range of matters including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance issues, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and employment law.
- Equal Opportunities: Monitor and ensure compliance with the Equality and Diversity Policy throughout all stages of employment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a medium to large-sized organisation.
- A good working knowledge of current UK employment law.
- Experience in advising managers on a range of employee relations matters.
- Proven ability to support line managers in all aspects of recruitment and selection.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office.
- Level 3 Diploma in Human Resource Practice or equivalent experience; CIPD qualification is desirable.
