HR Advisor – Employee Relations Specialist

Location: Walsall

Salary: £23 per hour

Contract Type: 6 month contract

Working Pattern: Full Time / Hybrid with occasional travel around Walsall area

Are you a confident HR professional with a passion for employee relations and a knack for guiding managers through complex cases? Our client, a forward-thinking local authority, is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping a high-performing, inclusive workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert HR advice on complex queries, ensuring compliance with employment law, policies, and business needs
  • Lead case management for disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence matters using a coaching and influencing approach
  • Support managers with recruitment, restructuring, redeployment, and employment change initiatives
  • Advise on ill-health retirement, redeployment, and disability-related matters under the Equality Act
  • Participate in investigations, hearings, and appeals, including Employment Tribunal preparation
  • Deliver guidance across a wide range of employment policies including TUPE, flexible working, and organisational change
  • Contribute to HR system redesigns and digital tool development to enhance manager self-service
  • Coach and develop line managers through workshops and one-to-one support
  • Maintain accurate records in One Source and other HR databases
