Macildowie is delighted to be working in partnership with a valued client in Leicester to recruit an experienced HR Advisor for a 12-month maternity cover.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being hands-on across the full employee lifecycle - with a particular focus on employee relations (ER). There will also be opportunities to contribute to broader HR projects.

A background in manufacturing or a similar operational environment would be a strong advantage.

About the Role

As the go-to HR Advisor for the site, you'll support line managers and employees across a wide range of people matters. From driving employee engagement and performance to managing complex ER cases and supporting business-wide HR initiatives, your role will be varied, fast-paced, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide sound, practical advice to line managers on all employee relations matters including absence, grievance, disciplinary, and performance.
• Act as a trusted partner to line managers, coaching and guiding them through change, development, and employee issues.
• Support recruitment and onboarding processes for both hourly and salaried roles, ensuring a great candidate and new starter experience.
• Champion employee engagement by supporting colleague surveys and initiatives to drive positive culture change.
• Help deliver people-related projects aligned with the organisation's People Strategy - from succession planning to wellbeing and inclusion.
• Assist with audits (including customer and ethical) and ensure compliance with policies and employment legislation.
• Work closely with L&D to support development plans, team training, and succession initiatives.
• Maintain accurate employee data and reporting to support informed people decisions.
• Collaborate across the wider People team to deliver an efficient and values-led HR service.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Comfortable working in a busy, operational environment with a proactive and hands-on approach.
• Confident communicator who can build strong relationships at all levels.
• CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) is preferred.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is highly desirable.
