Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced HR Advisor to join their dedicated Human Resources team on a full time, temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact within the education sector, supporting Headteachers and school leaders in managing and developing their teams.
Responsibilities:
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Advise and guide Headteachers, School Business Managers, and Senior Leaders on a wide range of HR-related issues.
- Manage your own caseload of formal HR cases, including disciplinary, capability, sickness absence, and grievances.
- Support casework in a professional and timely manner, providing practical and legally sound solutions.
- Maintain and develop HR policies, procedures, guidance notes, and intranet content, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
- Provide support and advice to managers, employees, and the HR team on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures.
- Promote good practice in all aspects of people management and ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal processes.
Skills and experience:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in an HR advisory or generalist role, ideally in a public sector or education environment.
- An understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
- Confidence in handling complex employee relations cases.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and offer pragmatic, solution-focused advice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Qualifications
- Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 7 or equivalent.
