Position Overview:

To provide a professional, value adding HR service to the Sembcorp UK business, driving continuous improvement through the effective deployment of people management process and resources.

Responsibilities:

  • To proactively integrate with Sembcorp UK management to plan and implement programs to meet human resource requirements to support business strategies, objectives, and goals.
  • To implement, guide and advise managers on all employment legislation and HR policies, procedures and guidelines including, but not restricted to disciplinary and grievance procedures, training and development, performance management.
  • Conduct routine salary administration tasks, providing advice to managers on the wages and salaries of all employees (including senior management).
  • Investigate and advise line management on day-to-day employee relations problems, providing briefing papers as required.
  • Participate in career development/succession planning issues, discussing career paths with line managers assessing the necessary risks associated with the changes and providing recommendations on suitable candidates for promotion or career change.
  • Participate and provide professional advice in the recruitment process, discussing staff needs with line managers.
  • Undertake HR projects and initiatives, delivering within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Work flexibly with the business to support the overall Company Objectives

Requirements:

  • CIPD level 5 qualification or working to / willing to work towards
  • Degree level educated in Human Resources or a relevant subject would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a HR team with a large, complex and fast paced organisation
  • Extensive experience of dealing with employee relation cases
  • Good HRMS knowledge/Reporting skills
  • Strong UK Employment law knowledge and best practice
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint user, able to manipulate large data sets and present for board packs
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and project delivery skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Independent & self-motivated
  • Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, a strong team player
  • Strong influencing, persuading, coaching and negotiating skills
  • Evidence in building strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • Can operate effectively within a fast paced, evolving business

Salary:

Negotiable - whilst all salaries are graded, Sembcorp is keen to attract, retain and develop the highest calibre of colleague. Also, the company offers a market-leading benefits package and annual bonus.
