Salary: £26,549.63 / £13.62 per hour
About Marsh Way House
Marsh Way House is a supported living scheme providing temporary accommodation for up to 48 residents who have experienced homelessness or rough sleeping. Our goal is to guide individuals toward stability, independence, and secure long-term housing.
Role Overview
Riverside is seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and proactive Housing Case Worker to provide on-site support to residents at Marsh Way House. This role involves no travel between properties and focuses on delivering one-to-one, person-centred support that empowers residents to become tenancy ready and engage with essential services.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 8–9 residents currently in temporary accommodation
Deliver housing-related guidance, including tenancy applications and system navigation
Support residents in accessing Universal Credit, housing benefits, and entitlements
Facilitate registration with GPs, banks, councils, and other vital services
Conduct keywork sessions focused on budgeting, goal setting, and wellbeing
Promote personal responsibility by monitoring room conditions and encouraging care for living spaces
Apply trauma-informed and psychologically informed practices to support clients with complex needs
Maintain clear, structured case notes, risk assessments, and support plans using internal systems
Liaise with housing associations, local councils, and referral agencies to secure positive move-on outcomes
Foster a calm, safe, and respectful community environment within the scheme
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience supporting individuals affected by homelessness and rough sleeping
Strong working knowledge of housing benefits, tenancy processes, and local authority pathways
Confident conducting welfare checks and delivering one-on-one, structured support
Skilled in income maximisation, budgeting, tenancy sustainment, and advocacy
Understanding of complex needs including mental health, trauma, and substance misuse
Compassionate and non-judgmental, with a person-centred approach to casework
Reliable, organised, and able to manage a focused caseload effectively
Proficient with IT systems and case management tools
Flexible, collaborative team player with a genuine commitment to helping people rebuild their lives
