Job Opportunity: Housing Caseworker (Floating Support)

Location: Leeds

Start Date: As soon as possible a Minimum 3 months

DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS

Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours (Monday – Friday) Salary: £26,549.63 (£13.62/hr)

Desirable: Driving license – mobility between schemes is essential

Role Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Housing Caseworker (Floating Support) to join our dynamic team. This is a vital frontline role, supporting individuals at risk of homelessness across Leeds. You’ll manage a caseload of 20 clients, delivering tailored support to help them sustain tenancies and access vital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centred housing support, helping clients resettle and avoid eviction
  • Provide outreach support at clients' homes, helping with tenancy sustainment and wellbeing
  • Address complex needs including mental health, substance use, domestic violence, and dementia
  • Work independently in the field, using trauma-informed and psychologically informed practices
  • Create clear, structured support plans, risk assessments, and case documentation
  • Help clients build life skills to become “tenancy ready” and reduce social isolation
  • Signpost to external agencies in healthcare, education, employment, and more
  • Collaborate with housing teams, external partners, and other Engage Leeds colleagues
  • Maintain accurate records and manage tasks efficiently under pressure
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience supporting individuals facing housing insecurity or homelessness
  • Excellent understanding of tenancy sustainment and Leeds’ housing landscape
  • Confidence working independently and making decisions in dynamic environments
  • Familiarity with issues like substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health conditions
  • Professional, empathetic, and driven to empower vulnerable people
  • Proficient with IT and admin systems — strong record-keeping is essential
  • Willing to travel; driving is highly desirable due to the nature of the caseload
  • Collaborative, flexible, and a team-oriented problem-solver
