Housing Officer

Permanent, Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm)
Salary: Up to £32,370 per annum
Overview:
An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Housing Officer to join a leading housing provider in Exeter. This is a customer-facing role managing a defined patch of properties, ensuring tenancies are sustained and communities are well supported.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of properties, delivering proactive and person-centred tenancy management
- Build strong relationships with residents to support tenancy sustainment and wellbeing
- Monitor and manage rent accounts, implement payment plans, and promote a rent-first culture
- Deal with all tenancy matters including sign-ups, successions, notices, and enforcement where necessary
- Respond to antisocial behaviour, using legal tools and working collaboratively with partner agencies
- Oversee void management, lettings, and meet key performance targets
- Conduct regular estate inspections to maintain safe, compliant environments
- Deliver intensive housing management, including support with bidding and housing plans
Key Requirements:
- Experience in housing management or a similar support-focused role
- Knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy law, and regulatory standards
- Confident in managing rent arrears, tenancy breaches, and ASB cases
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first approach
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in the community
