Housing Officer - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

Experienced Housing Officer required in Greater Manchester on an ongoing temporary contract, 35 hours per week Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid lunch). You will be responsible for providing housing & tenancy management services within an allocated patch of general needs housing stock, with the option to manage your diary & work from home around your customer and stakeholder meetings. Your new role

• Covering all aspects of void and tenancy management including pre-termination visits, tenancy changes, terminations, abandonments, viewings, exchanges, left in occupation and enforcement of tenancy conditions.
• Undertake planned neighbourhood inspections, dealing with identified issues such as untidy gardens, fly tipping, litter, graffiti, repairs, vandalism and abandoned properties.
• Identify and escalate cases of ASB to the Tenancy Enforcement Officer.
• Identify and report any health & safety issues/breaches, and take the lead on gas access management.
• Working collaboratively with key internal stakeholders on safeguarding incidents, referring customers at risk to relevant Agencies/Local Authorities.
• Attend resident meetings and customer involvement events.

What you'll need to succeed

• Min 12 months experience in carrying out housing & tenancy management duties within a social housing setting
• Experience of compliance management, health, safety and risk, and good knowledge of best practice in safeguarding adults and children
• Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework of social housing and property/tenancy management
• Proficient in the use of IT systems, good negotiation skills and good relationship building skills
• Valid UK driving licence with access to own vehicle
