Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Home Tuition Specialism

A specialist provision school in Oldham is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a temporary supply basis, with an immediate start. About the Role

As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in complementing the professional work of teachers by:

• Planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities for individuals, groups, or whole classes.
• Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on pupils' achievement, progress, and development.
• Coordinating and delivering home tuition for pupils unable to attend school, ensuring continuity in their learning journey.
• Supporting formal accreditation and curriculum enhancement.
• Building constructive relationships with parents/carers to support pupil attendance and engagement.
• Attending review meetings and liaising with multi-agency teams.
• Maintaining resources and equipment used in tuition delivery.

Key Requirements

• Full UK driving licence with a minimum of 12 months driving experience.
• Access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance.
• Ability to travel to pupils' homes across the borough.
• Willingness to work with the school and agency to agree a mileage rate in line with Oldham Council guidelines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and challenge pupils.
• Experience in supporting children with additional needs is highly desirable.
