Higher Level Teaching Assistant | Alternative Provision | Enfield

Are you a Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role in Enfield? Or are you an experienced educator who would like to support young people who have faced challenges in mainstream education?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join a supportive alternative provision in Enfield that specializes in working with Year 10 and 11 students. This setting specifically supports young people dealing with anxiety, school refusal, and other barriers to education. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2025 with opportunities to go permanent.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for the below:

• Supporting Year 10 and 11 students with anxiety and school refusal issues on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Delivering learning activities and educational interventions under the guidance of qualified teachers
• Building trusting relationships with students to re-engage them with education and rebuild their confidence
• Providing pastoral support and helping students develop coping strategies
• Working closely with teaching staff, parents/carers, and external support services
• Monitoring and recording student progress, attendance, and engagement levels
• Supporting students with exam preparation and coursework completion

To join us and be successful in this role you will ideally need:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience working with secondary students facing educational challenges
• Previous experience supporting students with anxiety, school refusal, or similar barriers to learning
• Understanding of alternative education approaches and trauma-informed practice
• An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
• Legal right to work in the UK

Salary: £110 - £140 per day
