Our client, a distinguished government agency, is seeking a dynamic individual to join their team as a Highways Delivery Manager.

Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of highway projects, ensuring they align with the organisation's strategic objectives and meet high-quality standards
  • Coordinate project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful project completion

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, local authorities, and contractors, to build strong relationships and ensure project success
  • Act as a key point of contact for all highway project-related inquiries

Contract Management:

  • Lead the management of contracts related to highway delivery projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and adherence to project specifications
  • Negotiate and liaise with contractors to ensure the smooth execution of project milestones

Budget Oversight:

  • Manage project budgets efficiently, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on financial performance
  • Work closely with finance teams to ensure budgetary compliance and seek opportunities for cost savings

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality assurance processes for highway projects
  • Monitor and evaluate project outcomes to identify areas for improvement and innovation

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Prioritise and enforce health and safety standards across all highway projects to ensure the well-being of workers and the general public

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, challenges, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and records

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing and delivering highway projects within the public sector
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in highway construction and maintenance
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Budget management experience and a keen eye for financial detail
  • Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, project management, or a related field
