We are currently supporting a respected infrastructure and construction organisation in their search for a Health & Safety Site Coordinator. This is a site-based role involving travel across multiple UK locations, ideal for a health and safety professional looking to make a meaningful impact across diverse projects.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety procedures across active sites. The role focuses on promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Health & Safety Leadership
- Promote a safety-first culture across all sites
- Provide guidance and support to site teams on health and safety matters
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
- Lead by example in promoting proactive safety behaviours
2. Systems & Documentation
- Maintain site safety documentation (RAMS, COSHH, incident logs, etc.)
- Support development of internal policies aligned with CDM 2015 and H&S legislation
- Manage Permit to Work systems and ensure compliance
- Assist with incident reporting and investigations (including RIDDOR)
3. Inspections & Compliance
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits
- Review subcontractor RAMS and ensure adherence to safety standards
- Monitor welfare facilities, signage, and emergency arrangements
- Liaise with clients and regulatory bodies during audits and visits
4. Training & Competency
- Coordinate training schedules for site staff and contractors
- Deliver basic health and safety awareness sessions
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure mandatory qualifications are up to date
5. Project Support
- Assist with site mobilisation and setup from a safety perspective
- Contribute to risk assessments and project planning
- Provide health and safety input during tendering, design, and delivery phases
6. General Duties
- Be a visible and professional presence on site
- Uphold high standards of safety, conduct, and integrity
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Carry out additional health and safety tasks as required
