?? Health & Safety Assurance Manager – Major Infrastructure Project | Essex | 5 Days On-Site ??

We are proud to be supporting a major client in the recruitment of a Health & Safety Assurance Manager for a high-profile infrastructure expansion at a major site in Essex.

With construction underway and a rail terminal in development, this is a pivotal role in one of the UK’s most significant logistics and civil engineering projects.

?? Location: Essex – full-time, 5 days per week on site

?? Contract Type: 2-year fixed-term contract

�?? Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure / Construction

?? Project: Extensive investment in port and rail infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee contractor and consultant H&S performance, ensuring alignment with CDM regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Conduct daily and weekly inspections of high-risk activities and ensure mitigation measures are in place.
  • Review and monitor H&S plans, risk registers, incident investigations, and emergency preparedness.
  • Lead weekly HSE meetings and contribute to monthly reporting and KPI tracking.
  • Support onboarding, inductions, and training compliance for all site personnel.
  • Evaluate H&S aspects of tender submissions and contractor competence.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Assurance Manager on large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent H&S qualification.
  • Experience in civil engineering, logistics, or heavy industry environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
