Location: Covering sites in Creswell, Chesterfield & Eggborough (occasional travel to Essex)Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 + Car Allowance + BenefitsType: Full-Time | PermanentThe Role:We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturer seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to support multiple operational sites across the North of England. This is a key position for a proactive EHS professional who thrives on driving safety standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with site management and the central SHEQ team to implement and embed EHS best practice
- Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Lead and support the investigation of incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Deliver engaging EHS training sessions and toolbox talks to staff at all levels
- Monitor and report on EHS performance data, identifying trends and areas for improvement
- Stay up to date with changes in legislation and best practice, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Act as a key point of contact for employees regarding EHS concerns or suggestions
- Maintain and review emergency response plans, including fire safety, chemical handling, and first aid procedures
What We’re Looking For:
- NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
- Proven experience in a similar EHS role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of ISO management systems (45001 & 14001)
- Confident in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, noise control, and employee wellbeing monitoring
- Willingness to travel regularly across regional sites, with occasional travel to the South (Essex)
