Head of Service Charge Accounts - London OUR CLIENT are a well-established Property and Asset Management firm (Owner / Manager) who provide a market-leading service - based in Central London they manage a diverse array of assets covering all commercial asset types on a nationwide basis. They have now instructed Trident to help them to hire a Head of Service Charge Accounts who will be fully responsible for overseeing and managing the service charge team, in addition to managing their own portfolio of properties.

THE ROLE of the Head of Service Charge Accounts will be reporting to Finance Director and will undertake the responsibilities listed below:

  • Providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to the service charge team.
  • Holding line management responsibility.
  • Identifying and providing ongoing training to ensure the team has necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Setting clear goals, monitoring performance against KPIs, and conducting regular reviews.
  • Preparing annual reconciliation and accounts in compliance with RICS guidelines.
  • Liaising with property managers and clients in order to gain approval of accounts.
  • Assisting property managers in preparation and management of service charge budgets.
  • Implementing reconciliations and budgets onto the accounting system.
  • Handling queries raised by colleagues, clients and tenants.
  • Implementing new clients onto accounting system, ensuring a smooth and correct handover takes place.
  • Completing cash reconciliations on a timely basis.
  • Managing a portfolio of client properties.
  • Assisting in all other duties, where deemed necessary to help the team.

THE PERSON: To apply for Head of Service Charge Accounts role you will:

  • Hold previous experience of commercial service charge accounting.
  • Possess experience of using property management systems such as TRAMPS, YARDI, QUBE, etc. and be able to use Excel to a high level.
  • Be proactive with excellent problem-solving, communication, numerical and typing skills.
  • Be able to work alone or as part of a team with a high level of organisational and administrative skills.
  • Be able to use initiative and take responsibility.
  • Hold a thorough knowledge of RICS regulations and accounting procedures.
