Reed is currently supporting a prestigious client in their search for a Head of Procurement. This pivotal role involves managing a team of category and procurement managers, and the successful candidate will be responsible for leading all procurement activities to align with the company’s strategic objectives. We are looking for a strategic thinker with a strong background in procurement management and team leadership.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and category managers to create a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that are in line with the company’s goals and deliver cost-effective results.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance assessment.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations.
  • Work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs and ensure they are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders to ensure strategic partnerships and successful negotiations.
  • Stay abreast of market trends to adapt procurement strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience in a senior procurement role with a track record of successful team management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
  • Expertise in negotiation and supplier management.
  • Strategic mindset with the capability to develop and implement procurement strategies.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A relevant degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is essential.
  • CIPS qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
