A leading, global packaging company are looking for a Head of Procurement to lead the companies procurement proposition.Reporting to the Group Procurement Director, the Head of Procurement (HOP) Excellence role, works collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and with HOP peers, both Category and Regional.The HOP Excellence role, leads the Procurement Excellence Team of Managers and Specialists and is accountable for delivering improvements in key processes and tools that improve efficiency and effectiveness and drive functional excellence, delivering improvements in holistic value and return on investment (ROI) vs benchmarks. The Procurement Excellence team is fundamental to achieving our Corporate Plan Key Results and Strategic Goals.Your key responsibilitiesThe role is responsible for developing a strong team and drawing upon other resources to deliver on initiatives which:* Drives process excellence: Defining and leading initiatives to simplify, improve user experience and reduce non-value add activity, across Procurement and across the value chain* Embed Business Partnering Culture: Foster an integrated business partner culture, valued by business, regional and category Procurement teams* Evolve the maturity of Procurement practices in line with external benchmarks and business needs* Simplify: Drive towards clear, consistent and logical processes, tools, templates and policies which are easier for the business, supplier and end users to navigate* Brings the best of outside practices in: defining and driving the execution of a multi year improvement roadmap, endorsed by the business and Procurement leadership. Includes setting ambitious and measurable KPIs and targets to improvement vs benchmarks* Developing strategies to enhance compliance and reduce risk, in alignment with group priorities, whilst make it easier to comply with controls, policies and standards* Drive partnering and collaboration with Shared Services, including the purchase to pay 1-3 year roadmaps and process improvements, supporting capability improvements and improved effectiveness* Ensure we are partnering with IT and Finance to best leverage the procure technologies we already have to enhance effectiveness and improve user experience, and on 1-3 year roadmaps to deliver on ROI KPIs vs benchmarksOffice location: LondonAbout you* Leadership: Demonstrates role model behaviour and coaches others within team and across organisational boundaries. Experience building high performance teams* Functional Experience: Mastery knowledge and demonstrated experience of senior leadership roles in Procurement. Practical experience across the procurement lifecycle - From planning; complex Procurement sourcing and contracting negotiations; developing and successfully implementing 1-3 year category strategies; supplier relationship and performance management and contracting. Strong knowledge and experience across purchase to pay, master data and shared services* Vision and Strategy Development: Experience developing strategies and roadmaps to improve functional maturity, in alignment with stakeholders. Track record in delivering to agreed value (e.g. ROI) and targets* Functional Excellence & Transformation: Experience successfully leading transformational change in Procurement and matrix environment. Exceptional knowledge of Best-in-Class Procurement practices and ways of working.
