Head of Payment Operations - Profectus Recruitment : Job Details

Profectus Recruitment is working exclusively with a fast-growing payments provider operating in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Operations to lead their day-to-day activities, ensure operational excellence and scale infrastructure across EV charging networks and digital platforms.The RoleYou’ll drive operational strategy, lead a high-performing team and ensure smooth, compliant payment processing. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for transaction processing, customer support, compliance, and operational transformation projects all while maintaining a seamless customer journey.Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver operational strategy in line with growth plans and client needs.
• Oversee payments operations, reconciliation, settlement and customer support.
• Manage relationships with major payment gateways and acquirers (e.g., Adyen, Worldpay, Visa, Mastercard).
• Drive operational transformation projects, onboarding new EV clients and ensuring systems scalability.
• Ensure compliance with PSD2, PCI DSS, AML and other relevant regulations.
• Champion a high-performance culture across operations, compliance and customer service teams.

About You

• 8+ years’ leadership experience in fintech, payments or mobility.
• Deep understanding of payment processing flows and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to scale teams and operations while maintaining high SLAs.
• Strong project management skills across multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Confident stakeholder manager with excellent communication skills.
• EV sector experience is essential.
