Head of Operations - Reed : Job Details

A great client of mine are seeking a Head of Operations & Strategy to lead the strategic development and management of numerous sites and support functions. This role is pivotal in identifying new ways of working, implementing more effective systems and processes, and upgrading back-office functionality. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to strategic business planning, including capital planning, and ensuring they meet its objectives.

• Lead the strategic leadership and management of the different sites and support functions, including finance, administration, facilities, health and safety, and ICT.
• Work closely with the SLT to develop and implement capital and business planning, setting out the direction for the business.
• Attend SLT, Governing Body, and subcommittee meetings, providing clear information, advice, and recommendations on strategic developments.
• Lead and manage the performance of all back-office staff, ensuring systems and processes are fit for purpose.
• Oversee facilities and property management, including the supervision of building and maintenance services.
• Develop and review financial and HR policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and statutory requirements.

• Proven experience in operations and strategic planning within an educational or similar setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop back-office functions effectively.
• Excellent financial acumen with experience in financial planning, reporting, and forecasting.
• Knowledge of HR policies and procedures, and the ability to ensure adherence to local, LA, and statutory requirements.
• Experience in overseeing facilities and property management, including tendering and managing contracts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the SLT and influence strategic decision-making.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
