A Head of MI & Data is required for our public sector client who are based just outside of Manchester. The successful candidate will  provide of an excellent customer and data centric MIS service. You will develop and implement robust, efficient, compliant processes to manage, track and report funding performance data, providing key and operational performance information to the organisation and external stakeholders.  You will also lead on and oversee planning and course file management, timetabling and register management, funding awareness and training, enrolment activity, and data quality assurance work using a range of software tools. 

Responsibilities

• To manage the Group MIS team for and associated processes, ensuring strategic and improvement objectives are implemented and embedded.
• To oversee the planning process for the delivery of all provision, and validation of plans against business planning objectives.
• Ensure the website is kept up to date with accurate information.
• To develop effective partnerships with MIS software suppliers, attending MIS software user-groups where applicable, keeping abreast of new developments, and helping to drive priorities for improvement and development of key systems.
• To work closely with the Head of MI Business Intelligence and Systems to design, and implement effective business systems, including records systems and associate reports, including the timely submission of reports.
• To monitor and report performance data, trends, and forecasts, supporting the quality, performance, and business reviews agenda.
• To coach and develop the MIS team responsible for the data processing and compliance checking of all funding records and key documentation.
• To ensure the data systems are maintained with a focus on timely and accurate information.
• To implement a programme of regular review of errors, data quality tools, ensuring that data records are maintained and optimised for each return.
• To work closely with the Head of MI Business Intelligence and Systems to review the data management systems, structure, and architecture, ensuring effective integration and efficient processes that deliver an excellent learner and customer experience.
• To lead on all data audits, ensuring timely submission of data.

Experience/Skills required

• Working in a busy MIS setting
• Have experience of adhering to compliance requirements within an education establishment
• Possess extensive experience of data management, use of student records
• Expert knowledge of Further and Higher Education funding rules, compliance requirements, returns
• Knowledge of ESFA funding assurance practices, including data compliance and controls
• Knowledge of writing reports using SQL server tools
• Knowledge of OFS funding assurance practices, including data compliance and controls

Desirable

• Knowledge of key college systems, such as ProSolution, 4Cast, Strata, ProMonitor (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of devolved funding body data management, requirements systems and associated tools.
• Experience monitoring budgets
