Job Description :

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a Head of Housing Solutions/Options to join one of Adecco's leading public sector clients in an interim assignment for the next three to six months (whilst our client recruits permanently to the post). This role is based in West London and there will be the expectation to have to attend the office in person a minimum of 3 days per week.

Paying a competitive daily rate of up to £540 a day (Umbrella), you will have strategic oversight and responsibility for homelessness prevention and relief including emergency and temporary accommodation provision, private sector access, lease procurement and management, private landlord services, housing advice, housing register administration, and choice based lettings and allocations.

You will report directly into the Assistant Director of Housing and be directly responsible for a Service Manager as well as four team managers. Our client needs an experienced Head of Service with a strong background in operational/strategic management of housing services and support to offer assurance.

The role is accountable for:

* Homelessness Prevention and Relief* Housing Advice- Lead on Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention* Allocations & Lettings - Lead on the Council's legal duties in allocating social housing* Emergency & Temporary Accommodation* Budgetary responsibility - direct for circa £10m and performance data to meet funding requirements* Service improvement - Lead on delivering service improvements

About you: This role requires you to be an exceptional housing leader within the homelessness sector with enthusiasm about the council's ambition to deliver positive changes and wider corporate agendas. You will be passionate about ensuring that services are delivered with the best outcomes for residents at its heart.

You will have:

  • Senior Management or Director experience within Homelessness and/or Housing Advice, partnerships and the provision of supported housing.
  • Extensive Homelessness legislative knowledge.
  • Experience in working with partners to reduce rough sleeping.
  • Possess exemplary budget management experience.
  • Have managed relationships with members and be able to respond to complex professional or politically sensitive issues.

Work Environment: The post holder will work from Council buildings (minimum 3 days per week) or from home in line with Council policies in an 'agile' way in a flexible work environment, prioritising their own work within the empowered and enabled team culture recognising and utilising the expertise of others where appropriate.
