Purpose of role To lead the provision of the Group Financial Reporting service to meet the Group’s requirements for statutory and regulatory compliance reporting. This includes preparation, analysis and presentation of accurate, timely and compliant consolidated financial reporting for the Group. To lead the team through the application and implementation of any new accounting standards and ensuring consistency in application of ongoing accounting policies. To provide standardisation and control over the use of the Group’s chart of accounts and lead on the production and external audit of the annual Financial Statements for all Group companies.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership of the financial reporting functions whilst creating the culture to deliver excellent customer service.
- Lead a team of fully qualified accountants, this includes recruitment, planning, training, coaching, supervision, development and appraisal of personnel towards the delivery of the team’s objectives
- Lead on the consolidation process of producing the Group annual accounts, monthly Group management accounts and quarterly trading statements, and RSH regulatory reporting requirements.
- Lead the annual external audit, including co-ordinating timetable and Group reporting framework through building and maintaining strong ongoing communication lines with external auditors and key Group stakeholders.
- Oversee the design and maintenance of a robust and functional chart of accounts that caters for all entities across the Group, including joint ventures.
About You:
- Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years PQE, with experience of reporting under FRS102 and Housing SORP - essential
- Must be an accomplished people manager with proven ability to develop people. Previous experience managing a small team - essential
- Must have good commercial acumen to understand implications of the financial measures. Must be able to interpret impact of and implement changes in accounting standards - essential
- Experience in delivering large Group external audit and Financial Statements within challenging deadlines – essential
