Head of Financial Reporting - Gleeson Recruitment Group : Job Details

Gleeson Recruitment Group are exclusively recruiting for a Head of Financial Reporting to join a market-leading organisation based in Birmingham, offering hybrid working, long-term career development, and a collaborative, forward-thinking culture.

As the Head of Financial Reporting, you will play a key role in leading the financial reporting function, ensuring high-quality statutory and regulatory reporting, maintaining robust controls, and supporting the wider finance team with technical accounting expertise. This is a high-profile role with regular exposure to senior stakeholders and the executive leadership team.

• Lead the preparation and delivery of all statutory accounts and financial reports in line with IFRS and UK GAAP.

• Own the group consolidation process and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.

• Manage external audit processes and relationships, ensuring clean audits and timely delivery.

• Provide technical accounting guidance across the business, including support on complex transactions and new standards.

• Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, systems, and internal controls.

• Lead and develop a high-performing team, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.

• Partner with senior leadership on ad-hoc projects, M&A activity, and group finance initiatives.

To be successful in this Head of Financial Reporting role you will possess the following:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally trained in a top-tier practice.

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP.

• Proven experience in a senior financial reporting role within a large or complex business.

• Confident communicator with the ability to influence at board and executive level.

• Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.

• Experience with group consolidations and managing audit processes.

• Preferably a degree in accountancy, economics or business.

• Up to £90,000 base salary
