Head of Finance - Sheffield - Axon Moore Group Ltd : Job Details

Axon Moore are supporting an owner managed, manufacturing business in Sheffield to recruit their Head of Finance.This will be a No.1 in finance role, supported by an experience board who are looking to take the business forwards into growth and with the intention of seizing opportunities to develop further markets and customers.Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements
• Manage the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working closely with department heads and operational teams
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost control, and ensure effective treasury management
• Oversee all statutory reporting, tax compliance (VAT, corporation tax, etc.), and liaison with auditors
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets
• Partner with operations to provide financial insights on manufacturing costs, inventory, pricing, and margin analysis
• Support strategic planning and investment decisions with detailed financial modelling and scenario analysis
• Drive system and process improvements, including ERP enhancements and automation of financial processes
• Report financial performance and key KPIs to the Board and assist in strategic decision-making
• Further development and refining of the costing system and information
• Ongoing development and management of the stock ordering processes

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills and experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with experience in a senior finance role within an SME organisation
• Experience within the manufacturing sector would be highly desirable
• Experience working within a privately owned/owner managed or family-owned business would be highly desirable
