Head of Finance - Local Authority - Reed : Job Details

Reed Public Sector is Urgently recruiting for an interim Head of Finance for a Local Authority in County of YorkshireContracts Length: 3-6 Months with the possibility of getting extended Hybrid Working Day rate: Circa £600- £800 inside IR35Job purpose & context:As Head of Finance you will be responsible for managing the requirements of the Council’s external auditors, audit programme which details the key milestones that are required to be delivered in order that the Council can have its 2022/23 statement of accounts approved in September 2024. This role will require the post holder to work closely with Auditor's dedicated audit team that is ring fenced to the audit of the 2022/23 statement of accounts.Accountabilities:

• Manage, from the Council’s perspective, the requirements of Auditor’s programme for their audit of the 2022/23 statement of accounts
• Monitor progress against the Auditor’s 2022/23 audit programme and highlight to management any slippage and why the slippage is occurring.

 ?Skills, knowledge & experience:

• Responsible for ensuring compliance with both statutory financial requirements and relevant codes and regulations with regard to the production of a Council’s Statement of Accounts.
• Extensive knowledge of both statutory financial requirements and relevant codes and regulations with regard to the production of a Council’s Statement of Accounts.

Experience:

• Must have worked in Local Authority 
• CCAB or equivalent qualification
