About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to lead and develop a high-performing finance function within a values-driven non-profit organisation. This is a strategic leadership role, reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Commercial, with a strong focus on financial governance, planning, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and present monthly management accounts, including narrative reporting
• Ensure robust financial policies, processes, and controls are in place and compliant
• Lead on investment strategy and banking relationships
• Manage and mentor the Finance team, fostering a culture of development and accountability
• Oversee the annual budget-setting process and strategic financial planning
• Drive forward planning and follow-up actions from committees and audits
• Collaborate with operational teams to enhance financial performance and cost efficiency
• Review monthly payroll for accuracy and compliance
• Support board and committee servicing alongside the Director of Finance & Commercial
• Lead the production of the annual report, audit, and statutory accounts
• Contribute to the charity’s strategic direction and long-term financial sustainability

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and strategic insight
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience in charity finance or public sector (desirable but not essential)
• A collaborative leader with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
